During his time at the RNCM Stuart qualified as a teacher through the Manchester Metropolitan University. Since qualifying he has worked with a number of Musical Education Hubs through the North-West working both as a peripatetic singing teaching and primary vocal leader. He has experience working with children and young people both as a choral director and in school classroom singing. He is currently working at Sefton Music Service where, as well as directing the Youth Choir
Sefton Voices, he leads a number of primary singing projects across the region.

As well as his music service work Stuart ha worked extensively in opera education, running projects with Opera North and the Royal Opera House. These projects are very varied and wide reaching.

At Opera North Stuart has been part of leading their award winning In Harmony project in Leeds. The In Harmony scheme is a partner scheme to other system projects across the country. This project seeks to provide all children in a school with instrumental and choral musical experiences in an immersive project. Recently the project has garnered attention for the way in which is has helped to increase grades within the school. He is also involved in projects in secondary schools helping develop an engaging vocal lead programme to continue the work being done in Key 1 & 2.

Stuart is also working with the Royal Opera House in Thurrock leading their Young Vocal Leader Training Programme a brand new initiative aimed at training young people to become vocal leaders in their schools and communities.

Stuart is very much in demand as a teacher trainer working with both primary and secondary teachers in developing ways of encouraging good vocal technique in young singers.
